READ-TO-ME - Ages 2-7

Dates set for: Oct 14, 28, Nov 25, Dec 9 from 11am-12pm

                    Oct 19, Nov 2, 16 Dec 7 from 6pm-7pm

Time alloted 1hr on various days to help acomidate different families.

This is a purely volunteer program.  We get parent and community member volunteers to come in during a set couple months to read to the children.  The stories are all Easy Readers and we will do a craft that will go along with the theme of the story.  Each child is entered in a draw each time they attend. All children must have their own FREE library card so we can keep track of how many books they take out. They will all get a reading log which parents need to fill out. Children will receive a Reading Certificate in June Based on how many books got read to them. The Draw will also take place on the last day.

X-TREME READERS CLUB - Ages 7-12

Dates set for: No Date set for this group unless there is an interest

Time alloted 1hr once a month from 5:30-6:30pm

This group is for the kids that are just getting out of the Easy Readers and starting to read chapter books! The books are still not all that thick and I know they can read them! I will read a few chapter books during our meetings which will take about 2 meetings per book. Children will then take out chapter books to read at home. They will be given a reading list that they complete and get prizes for. Every book on the list is a chapter book so they will have to fill out a short review of the book to prove they read it. Every child is entered into a draw each day they attend which will be drawn for at the last meeting. I set the time of this meeting earlier because I am hoping that parents will drop this age group off and if they have kids in the younger group would stay for that at 7pm. Again children will all need their own FREE library card.

TEEN TIME - Ages 12-16

Dates set for: Oct 22, Nov 26, Dec 27, 30

Time alloted 4hrs, once a month from 12-4pm

This is a group of teens that want to spend time in the library but don't want any set theme. This group will decide it's own activities and have a say in when we will be doing them. The activities will be anywhere from watching movies to drawing. We hope to have lots of kids show up and make this group a success.

ADULT READING CLUB 

Dates set for: Feb 23, Mar 23, Apr 20, May 25, Jun 22

Time alloted is as long as it takes starting at 7pm 

This group is for the avid readers we have in the community.  It has had it's ups and downs already.  We are still looking for a good core group of people to help choose books and read!  Food will be at each discusion meeting and everyone will be entered in a draw that will happen in June. Our first book is a choice of "Ella Enchanted" (we will watch the movie after this one), "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" Yes that is it's name and "A Thousand Splendid Suns". Whoever shows up to the first meeting will get to choose so don't make me sit alone and ask later why I picked that book!
